"Imagine, dear reader, that Eça de Queiroz was born in the 20th century and that, due to life's circumstances, he swapped his nimble quill and soft paper for a sampler. Imagine now that he replaced the sentences with audio tracks, constructing his novels with samples. Now imagine that one of these novels is a classic story of unrequited love, and that the "unrequited" love is not a woman, but a city. Finally, imagine that this city is Vila Nova de Gaia and that the suffering poet is David Bruno. "It's important to make it clear to the reader that this is a multimedia work, where audio and video sampling not only coexist but also complement each other in a harmony that gives rise to this video album. With national visual references to the 1980s and 1990s, this artistic object is an ode to a golden age in our country's recent history, when abundance, "nouveau riche", good restaurants, cafés, bars, populist mayors, construction, easy credit and the well-being of the middle class flourished. Everything was flourishing, except the love that the city of Vila Nova de Gaia felt for the poet David Bruno, who, faced with such indifference and lack of recognition, was forced to make the most difficult decision of his life: to leave his beloved city."
