After his first adventure in the endless universe of instrumental music where he made known “Man With a Plan” in 2018, Minus & MRDolly now presents the new EP “Broken Hearts Make Broken Beats”. This new work is the result of a recording session at Groove-Wood Studios promoted by João André, (who mixes two of the three originals from the EP), which was joined by Hugo Danin on drums and Sérgio Alves on keyboards and electric piano . As a trio (Minus, Hugo and Sérgio), they rearranged and explored the original sketches, previously composed by Minus & MRDolly.

Floating, or so to speak, with one foot in and one foot out of his familiar Hip Hop house, “BHMBB” is a reflection of some musical references prior to that house, where “Britfunk” or “Broken Beat” serve as an example. This EP intends to marry the acoustic character of the interpretation with the aesthetic and electronic universe of dance music.

“Salame”, “The Break” and “A Thousand Miles”, the three originals that make up the EP “Broken Hearts Make Broken Beats”, also feature percussionists Manu Idhra and Rui Ferreira, voiced by Mary Raisekings, and Sparrow's saxophone. The theme “The Break” has remixes by Pedro and Max Graef.

With vinyl edition, “Broken Hearts Make Broken Beats” is the second EP by the Porto label Jazzego.

Depois da sua primeira aventura no infindável universo da música instrumental onde deu a conhecer “Man With a Plan” em 2018, Minus & MRDolly apresenta agora o novo EP “Broken Hearts Make Broken Beats”. Este novo trabalho é o resultado de uma sessão de gravação nos estúdios Groove-Wood promovida pelo João André, (ele que mistura dois dos três originais do EP), à qual se juntaram Hugo Danin na bateria e o Sérgio Alves nos teclados e piano elétrico. Em trio (Minus, Hugo e Sérgio), rearranjaram e exploraram os esboços originais, compostos anteriormente por Minus & MRDolly.

A flutuar, ou como quem diz, com um “pé dentro e outro fora” da sua tão familiar casa que é o Hip Hop, “BHMBB” é o reflexo de algumas referências musicais anteriores a essa casa, onde o “Britfunk” ou o “Broken Beat” servem de exemplo. Este EP pretende casar o caracter acústico da interpretação com o universo estético e eletrónico da música de dança.

“Salame”, “The Break” e “A Thousand Miles”, os três originais que constituem o EP “Broken Hearts Make Broken Beats”, contam ainda com a participação dos percussionistas Manu Idhra e Rui Ferreira, a voz de Mary Raisekings, e o saxofone de Pardal. O tema “The Break” conta com remisturas de Pedro e Max Graef.

Com edição em vinil, “Broken Hearts Make Broken Beats” é o segundo EP da editora portuense Jazzego.
